Talking to CRA can get you into trouble
CRA never calls to help you. They only call when they are interested in getting money. They are very skilled in gathering information to get money from you. They can and will use the information gleaned from a phone call against you. They don’t use information that is not in their interest of getting your income. If CRA calls it is because you have a pending tax problem.
You need to make sure that you only communicate in writing. If they call, simply say that they need to send you a letter as to what they want.
Once they send you the letter, you will know if you need help or not. Just make sure that you carefully select who you are going to get to help you.
